Re: Diecast Collecting

Glad to see you here bud. If you want to see one this hobby can lead to go to the collections section of the site, and check out my gameroom. I could have been on that island with Lindsay Lohan, but instead I am here with you guys and a room full of diecast planes.

Oh no.....Here we go again....
Guys we need to find him a Lohan fix.

Re: Diecast Collecting

Thank you all for you kind replies .

Yes this can be very addicting and heavy on ones cc. I am also into slot car racing and now have 150 slotcars plus 2 race tracks,so I know all about addicting hobbies.

Merritec - yes it's an avro arrow but not diecast or 1/72 scale. It is how ever a very large hand crafted Mahogany Model about 20 inches in length 1/28 scale.

I presently have 14 hand crafted Mahogany Models all in markings and colour schemes of the RCAF.

Re: Diecast Collecting

Hi Avro, Funny , I have just been reading about the Arrow project. Very interesting development and history to it. Anyway welcome and have fun. You now face a major challenge. How to hold on to your money. There are people here that will tempt you with all manner of too good to say no too Aircraft models. I had a small humble little collection of 1/72 planes when I joined up. Now I cannot move for the little metal monsters. Be warned they breed while you are at work. Sometimes they arrive in little cardboard boxes that are left on your doorstep by the postmen. AND BEWARE of the irate lady indoors!!
You started with the best diecast on the market imho, the Swordfish. My advice is try models from different makers and see the relative merits of each .
If you want a particular model, check out the forum for advice, it will save you buying a dud.

God Bless America.

Welcome Avro, to a world full of advice, fun, knowledge, and irreverence. You will find after a short time that the forum is nearly as enjoyable as collecting D/C itself.
