| Warbirds upgrade With a little bit of patience and a steady hand it is possible to upgrade Warbirds to an acceptable level. Rooting around through a spares box I came across two pilot figures from some old broken models. I removed 'Grumpy' Unwin's Spitfire cockpit gently with a scalpel and inserted a seated figure replacing the cockpit without glue. With a small brush tipped in red paint and another MK1 Spitfire to guide me I painted the gunports. Using a narrow pointed permanent marker I drew in the muzzles. A similar and successful job was done on Pete Brother's Hurricane cockpit. The red paint was easier to apply as the four Brownings in each wing are together in a panel. Not as good as a factory job but acceptable none the less. Hope this helps. ![]() | |||||||||||||

| Re: Warbirds upgrade I agree shamrock - Warbirds models can be really enhanced. I've repainted two of the Kenneth Walsh Corsairs. New paint, some decals, and a little careful addition of weathering and they look great. Haven't played with any Spits yet but I'm looking to get a Bf109. | |||||||||||||
