1/72nd Mistel 1 (Ju.88 & Bf.109)

So, now that Corgi has a Ju.88 and a Bf.109 in 1/72nd scale, can we expect to see a Mistel 1? I think it is a splendid idea. To see more on the model shown above visit its feature page on Hyperscale.

You could pair the Dragon 109G and Ju-88 to make a Mistel, but if you wanted an "all Corgi" one, it would have to be a Ju-88/Fw-190A combo..

What was the mission for this aircraft, how did it work?
Ive seen these before but know very little about their history.

The Mistel combo was used to blow up bridges and ships, although the actual effectiveness was never proven.. The Ju88 (typically a worn out aircraft) was either loaded with explosives or an explosive warhead (top pic) and flown by remote from the carrier aircraft (Fw-190 or Bf-109).. The fighter would release the Ju-88 when it neared the target and the Ju-88 would be "wire-guided" to the target by the pilot in the fighter..
I have seen film footage and pics of these being shot down, but I haven't ever heard (or read) of one actually destroying a target..

I figure you'd be looking at about the same cost as a B-17 or B-24.

i'd have one - it would go well with the He-111 + Doodlebug combo
