Re: AA36801 Westland Lysander Mk.II (France 1940)

A few years ago I saw two of these flying at Duxford. They are brilliant aircraft and very strongly built. looking at them you would not think so but they could withstand landing on really bad ground hence their use as a transport into occupied Europe. I cannot rmember the title but an ex Lysander pilot wrote a book about his experiences. It was fascinating reading.
The rear canopy is only one piece and it includes the center section..

Re: AA36801 Westland Lysander Mk.II (France 1940)

I want to know the title of that book

Hi, I have so many books that I only buy one now if it is really special. I have a very good local library nearby so I borrow most of my books from them. they are very good and find me anything i ask them to. I am sure the book I mentioned was a borrowed one so I will look into the matter and see if I can find it. I already have them searching for a book on the Invasion of Britain that gives all the info on landing sites etc. They are gonna love me when i set them on this new task. Hang in there buddy and I will do my best.

God Bless America.
