Has anyone have a picture of the actual plane. Across the pond there saying the stars and bar are inaccurate.

My thoughts exactly, shouldn't there just be one star and bar on the top wings? I think Corgi did this with another of their P-47s...doesn't look right to me...

I've seen photos of the real things both ways (P-47s were sometimes painted with two insignia top-side, one on each wing, and sometimes only one), so it's still possible that this is correct. I have *not* seen a top-side photo of this particular aircraft, so I can neither confirm nor deny that Corgi got it right this time.

Didn't know that, learn something everday...so maybe it is right...

I would of thought by the time the D-Day stripes were add they would of corrected that Star & Bar on the right top and bottom left wing.
There must of been a reason to leave it on there.

I have a picture somewhere that has two T-Bolts with the insignias on the top and bottom. It wasn't this bird but it would make it a feasible configuration. I see if I can find it.

Re: US33821 Republic P-47D-25 Thunderbolt "Maggie"

Sometimes I just wish the manufactureres would make availble the reserch that they do. If they do their homework properly (ok it a BIG if) then it would hopefully quell a lot of these questions that keep getting raised on their models.

That would just be far to easy though - wouldn't it.

Just a shot in the dark here but it could be a recognition thing. The ones on the bottom in the pic that Celtic posted look very large, and as the P-47's and Fw 109's were confused quite often that could explain it.
