| US32110 Messerchmitt BF 109E Adolf Galland ![]() All images posted are for the collector’s benefit and may not be reproduced for commercial use without the written consent of On Mark International, Inc. USA US32110 NEW! Messerchmitt BF 109E-4/N WK-NR 5819 Oberstleutnant Adolf Galland, Geschwaderkommodore Jagdgschwader 26 “SCHLAGETER”, Audembert, 1940 1760 produced | 5.75" (14.6cm) wingspan A 1/72nd Scale Diecast model from Corgi Classics Undoubtedly one of the best known Bf 109Es of them all, Galland’s famous E-4/N was marked with Kommodore markings, 57 victory bars on the rudder and the familiar black and white mouse personal emblem. But the writing was on the wall for this aircraft by December 1940. Having scored an additional three kills with it, Galland then received a new Bf 109F-0, and proceeded to fly both types from Brest in early 1941. The Bf 109E’s scope protruding from the windscreen was not a telescopic sight, but just a straightforward telescope, which enabled Galland to identify between friend and foe at a greater range. There's gonna be a lot of pictures tonight!! | |||||||||||||
