Re: US32110 Messerchmitt BF 109E Adolf Galland

...one of the annoying things about the packaging, imho, is that they have use a black-flock coated plastic carrier - same type as used with the MZ commisions. It looks good, but the flock residue gets all over the model !

Luckily they didn't use it on the Chetwood Thunderbolt in the same packaging style, just black shiney plastic...

I agree with you 100%, I think the fuzzy black packaging will definitely leave residue on the model over time. Much prefer the plain plastic.

Just won the Galland on ebay for $35.95 shipped, not too bad I think. Been wanting this one, just didn't want to pay too badly out the nose for it! Should make a nice addition and look good with my Gemini Galland Bf-109f and my Mule Special Galland 262!

I managed to pick up one of these rarities today. This is IMHO the best ME-109 that Corgi have done to date. The undercarriage legs are painted silver, fit and finish much improved, very good paint scheme. I had decided that I had enough ME-109Es and was concentrating on the Gemini Fs and Dragon Gs. I changed my mind when I saw Mark's photographs and am glad that i did. PWC,PWC

I have finally got mine, but imho, the mould is definitely showing its age, and its quality isn't as gud when comparing the the Ju-88 and Me 262 i got with it, it just stands out...

Token for your thoughts

Will model packages with the token intact be worth more than those with the token redeemed?? Just wondering what the thoughts are.

Kind of like the "mint" classification for comics and such.

In my view, if the token has been removed then the package is no longer complete or mint. Just think, the token is worth 1/6th the price of a Halifax etc, so if you were buying a model with the token removed you should expect to pay less.

I agree with Dave.. If the token is removed, then the model is no longer "Mint" and incomplete.. Should you pay less??, I guess that is up to you and how bad you want that piece...

Of course. The token is part of the package. In the future models that have an intact token will be worth more than models for which no token was offered. Models that were originally offered with a token, but from which the token was removed, will be worth less than models for which no token was offered (depending, of course, on the eventual market value of the model, such as the upcoming checkerboard 190).

My guess is that the Halifax would fetch enough $ to more than make up for any marginal loss per model b/c of lack of tokens.

You might see these Halifaxes going for $300 some day. That should do it.
