The amazing Warbird upgrade!

All that needs to be done to enhance this suberb bargain Typhoon is to add a pilot. The best Typhoon before the RP armed ones arrive next year (hopefully).

The Otto Smik MkIX is again a great aircraft at a bargain price. Inserting a pilot and and creating the outer.303 MGs is all that is needed.

The Bader Spitfire gets a pilot and wing guns.

All the P-47 needed was a pilot.

There are some more upgrades which I will post. Please bear in my mind I'm not an expert model maker.

Re: The amazing Warbird upgrade!

Can you tell us how you took the model apart and got the pilot in there?

Don't do what BDE tells you to do. Do what BDE would want you to do.

Amazing Warbird upgrades

The Tuck Huricane gained a pilot & red paint on the wing gun ports. Be careful removing the cockpit as I cracked mine.

The Molders ME-109 is a beautiful aircraft and just needed a pilot.

The FW-190 cockpit is difficult to remove and needs careful handling. If you have swastika decals they wil further enhance the model.

The P-40 just needed a pilot.

Re: The amazing Warbird upgrade!

Very easy to do this Cavtanker. With a small sharp scalpel ease the blade under the front of the cockpit and loosen the canopy. Do the same at the rear. You should have enough room to insert the blade under the main part on each cockpit side to loosen equallly. Ease the cockpit off gently. It may or may not need glue to refit. Don't blame me if it breaks!!

Re: The amazing Warbird upgrade!

Neat Shamrock. Why couldn't Corgi just put pilots in the things in the first place? That would have solved most of the problem.

They dont make pilots, except for the Swordfish.

Yes, this is indeed easy to do, but one must be very, very careful not to break anything. Of course, when I put the pilot into my Bader Spitfire, I inadvertently cracked the nondescript Hurricane (AA32001) canopy from where the pilot came from too!

Gently, gently, gently, and it all will work without damage.
