CHC 500 Issue of AA32108 Certified or Decertified?

Wespen has dredged up some interest in the CHC AA32108 model. The question now posed is. How many of our members have this model and if so., is the status Certified or Decertified. Of the 500 issued, how many did our members obtain?. I know Tricatus has No. 446 and I have No.282: Lets start the countdown, the possibilities of decertified models (if any at all) could be lesser than we think. Actually. Flying Tigers shoul d have the answer to that.

There are three in our family, one certed and two de-certed (which me/my brother picked up at a toyfair). I can not remember the number of the certed one as dad has shoved it up in the loft!!

Re: CHC 500 Issue of AA32108 Certified or Decertified?

They had more of these left over to decert when CHC went under???

I thought that they flew out as soon as they came in. Wish I'd been able to pick one up I got a decerted grey one and that is realy nice.

Ooops!

Re: CHC 500 Issue of AA32108 Certified or Decertified?

I know Jumblies had a few (de-certed sandy ones) sold out in a couple of mins. Pretty sure they came from Corgi through the wholsaler to Jumblies and some of the other dealers. I don't know how many sandy ones where left when the CHC went under. On the CHC website they always stated that they had two Tuck Spitfires left, but I was told by one dealer that there was over 100 that Corgi had taken back when the CHC went bust.

There was also Captive Eagle FW's, TT P51's and both CHC 109's all de-certed that Corgi dumped back into the market.

The sandy 109 never seems to hang about when its cheap, its a nice model but I would not pay a premium for it. I wish I could help you guy's out that want one but you do not seem to see them anymore at the toyfairs (only the grey one)

To my knowledge the decert ones should be few and far between. I ended up with one from CHC (pre-shutdown) at the last minute - Lev on the old board posted that he had several leftovers as the people that ordered ended up canceling. I and I believe at least one other MH member jumped on them.

I saw that Corgi dumped a few leftovers after CHC closed down along with a more substantial number of Twilight Tear's. I didn't even realize they decerted the leftovers - unnecessary (and silly on a 500 copy run) in my opinion.

I can tell you when this came out it seemed to be in pretty hot demand (interesting Greycap that a dealer told you there were over 100 remaining - I wouldn't have thought that).

I have two certified models - the original from CHC, and one I picked up on ebay 10 months ago (or so).

It seems that all limited edition bf109's are at a premium.

Are they all likely to be worth alot a the future? I was seriously considering hunting down Helmut Wick's limited edition, it has such an awesome livery scheme. The Duxford exclusive is rather nice too.

I tell you would be more useful Swoop, if we tried to count all of the remaining AA32802 Mossies, there are two currently going for only about £30 on the bay and I doubt that they are as rare as some make out.

I can account for two certified ones here. I'll have to get back with numbers though.

Nooooooooooooo sorry, I think you misunderstood. There was over 100 of the Tuck Spitfire which was also a CHC commission. To my knowledge I think Jumblies had about 12 of the sandy 109 and a couple of other dealers had roughly the same. The problem is that nobody wants to tell you the truth about this release, its all abit 'cloak and dagger'
