Re: So what's your favourite Gladiator?

I voted Faith, Hope and Charity, just from the history behind it. I know the story has been stretched a little bit, but a good story makes all the difference for me.
I know what you mean about shipping the Diorama Gladiator. From Canada, intenational shipping for this is aroung $65 USD. Ouch.

As a matter of fact, I just picked up the Swedish/Finnish diorama at the local hobby store in Calgary for $47 (CAD), including GST. Fantastic model.

Re: So what's your favourite Gladiator?

ZS-VAN,
Hey there.

I own several of the Gladiators and all of them, in my opinion, are all great. However, my absolute favorite is the Finnish diorama. Yes, its a big and heavy box that will cost a ton to get it to South Africa, but I think you'll find it worthwhile. I've had mine out since the day I got it and despite needing to rotate my birds due to space limitations, this is one that WILL NOT get put away for any reason.

Anything for a weird life.

Re: So what's your favourite Gladiator?

I have to put my vote in for the J-8A Gladiator in Finnish paint scheme. Two bladed prop and it being ski equipped make for a great looking model. Corgi did a nice job on its Gladiators and hope to end up with all of them. Just wish they made Pattle's plane.

I hear you mate. I really like this plane too. I just cannot justify the postage. I like the 2 blade prop, skis and the scheme. I guess I will just have to wait and see what else comes down the pike. At least I can get the 2 blade prop in the desert scheme. If it was up to me I'd have them all too. In fact I'd have a whole lot more models if postage wasn't an issue.

Gladiator on Cake. Not sure about wedding cake though, looks little more like a flat funnel cake.

The 2008 issue, 73sqdn in silver looks like it will be a winner.

Re: So what's your favorite Gladiator?

Do you guys this side of the pond like the little Gladiator at all? If so which ones do you like best?

I'm that extremely rare collector who does not have a single Gladiator nor do I want one. While the model looks great and Corgi should be commended for producing such a detailed model, this particular plane sparks no interest in me to get one. I don't collect British planes - nothing personal guys - just isn't my thing. If the price goes down in a couple of years and extra stock is being sold off somewhere, I'll get one as a curiosity. Until then, I'll pass.

Doing what you want is freedom; doing what you like is happiness.

Strange thing that HotTrap, no Brits!!! nothing tempts you at all?

I have a good cross section of planes from all over the place. I guess if I like the look of a plane then i dont worry where it comes from.

We did occasionally make some cool planes Hot, sure I couldn't change your mind?
