b24, catalina and B 17 which is the bigger plane?

I was looking at my catalina next to my b17 and b24's and noticed how big the SNAFU catalina is. Is it really 1/72? I always thought b17 and b24's were bigger than catalinas. According to corgi, the pby's are the bigger birds. Am I the only one who noticed that. I have never seen a real catalina or B17 or B24 apart from pictures. Does anyone know what plane is the biggest in reality?

Hi , I have seen a Cat at the Duxford airshow and I can tell you it is huge .The wingspan is awesome, I will take a guess and say the Cat has the biggest span. Wait a moment I have the info here somewhere,,,,,,,,,

Cat is 104' wingspan by 63.10 long. the B24J is 110' wingspan by 67.2 long. The B17 is 103'.9 wingspan by 74.9 long. At ambient temp of 20 degrees. (just joking).

With the Catalina, the wings are also wider (chord?), especially more so than the B-24... and since they're raised above the fuselage the Corgi box is probably larger. I happen to have the B-17 A Bit O'Lace box handy, and it measures 20" x 14" x 5".

Tha Cats wingspan may not include the floats so when up the span may be another 7-8 feet.

Um... So B24 should be bigger than catalinas.
In reality I bet a B 24 is bigger.
I would like to see a real B24 and a real catalina side by side.

Just remember the Cat is the only one of the three to have a kitchen on board. They are big planes, and the PBY is probably biggest by volume, if not by span or length.

Yes, the B-24 has a slender wing and narrow fuselage (though it's somewhat deep), but the Catalina has the biggest "square footage" if measured by the size of footprint. Hence the huge box...

Speaking of size, it's interesting that an F-105 is only 7ft. shorter than a B-17!
