Re: Best Corgi 2006 Release

so, Kabelace what model released up until yesterday was the best in your opinion??

By the way, I agree with the PBY mold particularly the Black Cat Livery of which I recently acquired. It is definitely the runner up to the Swordfish in my world anyway..

Re: Best Corgi 2006 Release

I got the second JU-88 before the end of the year and I suppose that makes it a 2006 release. Tricatus has some nice shots on his site. The M-61 Vulcan cannon is still there in the front of the cockpit as are the over sized rear gondala MGs. Having said that the four bomb laden pylons and the excellent paintwork make up for these small errors.

I usually 'theme' my models together ie, MTO and North Africa, Battle of Britain, Pacific and CBI, and the Russian Front as I'm sure most collectors do. On the box this Ju-88 is labled as 'Battle for the Low Countries' which I understood to mean Holland , Belgium, in other words Europe. I know Finland is in Europe but this aircraft should be regarded as a 'War in the East' release.

I've put it with the rest of my Russian Front aircraft while I await a 'Battle of Britain' version.

Out of what I have received to date I would have to say the CC Swordfish and the Float plane one a close second. Like someone else said earlier in this thread it is just a menacing, mean looking machine. All black with the bombs on the racks, looks like it means business.

Planenuts says he likes "Marge" & "Snafu Snatchers". I like the Sea Gladiator & early war Swordfish (the silver one!)

Re: Best Corgi 2006 Release

Definately all the Swordfish released last year closely followed by the Gladiators notwithstanding their initial q.c. issues...

Happy New Year to all

I like "Marge" after I added the fuel tanks * removed the hubcaps! Almost as good as a Dragon, now!

Re: Best Corgi 2006 Release

My vote is for the PBY line and the "Snafu".

Second place goes to the JU-88s.
