| Re: B-29 -- how good is Corgi's 1:144? I can't do a side-by-side comparison unfortunately, as I don't own a Corgi B-29 (Tricatus has 9 B-29s on his site), but here's a few pretty bad shots of my Draggin' Enola Gay.(I'm going to get a good camera one of these days soon)...The thing that really turned me off about Corgi's Superforts other than the gaping maws around the cockpit area are the flimsy props and oversized hubs. ![]() Draggin's hubs are actually a bit too small, but the propeller detail including the Hamilton-Standard emblems (which are non-existant on Corgi)is excellent. ![]() I took a q-tip swab dipped in nail polish remover to the superfluous Enola Gay lettering on the right side. ![]() Draggin' may have dropped the ball with the defensive armament (no twin .50s in the tail for some reason) but they didn't forget what the Silverplate bombers were created for....Here's Little Boy ready to be delivered. (Bockscar has it's own scale Fat Man tucked inside). ![]() ....with a little 1/144th friend from the Navy. I've always loved the beautiful lines of the B-29 and although not perfect,I think all-in-all Draggin' did a pretty nice job with this one and I'm looking forward to seeing their "standard model" if and when it comes out... | |||||||||||||

| Re: B-29 -- how good is Corgi's 1:144? THanks for the pics, skunky! You've made the choice easy for me -- and I also saw the Bockscar Dragon in a local hobby store yesterday, too.. I'm going to wait a bit and see if that non-atomic version comes out in the next month or two (I want one with all the turrets)... if not, I'll probably go for the BC. | |||||||||||||

Well what do you know -- this one is out now, just hit Mr. Mule's "new arrivals" ... still got to save up a few dimes to spring for it, though... | ||||||||||||||
