Thumbs up Free Sights and Sounds Promo by buying Warbirds

I just wanted to send a quick note out about the Corgi Warbirds promotion.

I just recieved my Free sights and sounds B-17 Flak Attack 'Zoot Suit'. Though not one I would normally purchase,(very similar looking to Nine O Nine) it makes a nice addition to my heavies section, especially for the price.
It came in quite quickly after sending in the Tokens.
So even if thier customer service has been slow lately, thier promo department is working just fine.

Well done Corgi.

Re: Free Sights and Sounds Promo by buying Warbirds

I am tempted to get one of these sights and sounds aircraft.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: Free Sights and Sounds Promo by buying Warbirds

I have 2 aircraft from the sights and sounds collection. The B17 and the Lancaster. I normally would not have purchased these either, but I picked them both up at a great price during the holiday break.

I never like to buy things that seem somewhat "Gimicky", and these aircraft fit this bill. I've not really been iterested in the Warbird collection either, so there has been no drive to collect the tokens.

At the same time, my collection is beginning to look a little more like Bomber Command, and these aircraft have made a nice addition to the shelf. I will probably never turrn the lights down, and carpet my bookcase, but it's nice to know that should there be an uprising from my wife's china collection, I will satisfactorily bomb all the last pockets of resistance.

Between the two, I have found the Lancaster the harder one to come by, and it's probably my preferred out of the two. The B17 has a really nice paintjob and has a real presence next to the other US heavies.

I have the S&S Lancaster and picked it up just because I wanted another Lanc.. It is nice but I probably won't ever use the base, just for the "gimmick" factor..

Question Re: Free Sights and Sounds Promo by buying Warbirds

Arent the tokens on the box flap? So you cut all your boxes?

Also are you based in the USA? I thought the promo was only for the UK.

I have almost all the Warbirds, if I get the two I skipped it would be worth the $30.00 or so to get one of these for free. Or is there some crazy shipping cost you needed to mail in too?

Any info would be appreciatted.

Question Re: Free Sights and Sounds Promo by buying Warbirds

I got the Spitfire which has a kinda cool looking base with knobs and buttons, I kinda liked it, it makes some lights on the plane illuminate and spins the prop as well as working the gear up and down and sound, overall pretty neat, not perfect, but not gimicky either. Are these models you refer to different than this, do they do more or less?

I am in Canada, but the promo is good in the US as well. I bought the complete collection for my son, and was going to throw the boxes out anyways. There is no extra charges. You mail them in with your return address and they mail it out to you. Took about 3 weeks round trip.
