Wishing I had gotten one of those TFM/Corgi B-24s

I'm beginning to wish I had picked up one of those plane jane B-24s that TFM had done. I'd really like a late war silver B-24J from the ETO. Especially marked up as "Dugan" from AAM Duxford. Now I wonder what it takes to get a special one made afterall?

How about just getting the cheapest silver B25 you can find and then getting the old stripper in to to remove the nose art and serial. That might be a better bet than just the plain jane plane.

I would have though Booby trap or Michigan would be good candidate's for this, esp Michigan - which is probably the most boring one produced to date and prices seem to reflect that.

Ooops!

I'm thinking about stripping down Michigan, but I don't want to go too far and end having to re-paint the whole bird. If it was a tank, no problem. Aircraft are tricky.

I thought I read somewhere in the past someone who did something similar to another model - removed the tampo printings and replaced them. I searched but I must not be hitting the right keyword. Hopefully one of our talented brethren will enlighten us as to how they did it as I have a few birds I am thinking of "lightly" modifying in the same manner.

I believe acetone takes off the tampo but not the paint. Nailpolish remover. Use a q-tip first.

Don't forget the targets are my airfields, Leigh-Mallory, and you're not getting fifty, you're not even getting ten.
