OK how about a Lindbergh P-38

Since the Bong idea didn't go over well. How about a Lindberg P-38. He flew with Bong right, unofficially of course. And unofficially tagged one enemy aircraft. Could we see that one or does the MIB come to erase our memories? LOL

Re: OK how about a Lindbergh P-38

I would go for the Lindy Lightning for sure. Always liked this Denardo painting myself. Osprey has a whole book on the 475th but I don't have it.

Charles Lindbergh flying an un-authorized combat mission with the 475th. FG.

Don't forget the targets are my airfields, Leigh-Mallory, and you're not getting fifty, you're not even getting ten.

This idea was expressed before by someone who looked alot like me. (On the old Model Hanger I think).

I thought the idea of a plane flown by an Aviation Legend who was prior to WWII a anti-war isolationist who flew unathorized combat missions and earned a Kill would find a unique spot
in an aviation collection. I think he was the most famous pilot to earn a kill in P-38. His contributions to the War effort in training pilots to maximize their range by adjusting their mixture
and prop setting probably helped the war effort more than his kill. But he did have an effect.. He also got some Corsair stick time I believe.

Lucky Lindy's P-38 would be very, very cool! That would be an interesting piece.
