Hackl Me-109

Just curious here. I have been considering picking up a Hackl 109 but have not read much about it here. I understand the likes of the Barkhorn and Hartman but what is wrong with the Hackl? It seems the Ehrl is picked over the Hackl. Personally I think it looks pretty good from the photos I've seen but would enjoy some input from those that have purchased it.

Re: Hackl Me-109

I am a HUGE fan of Anton Hackl and I don't own one.. My main complaint about it is that the upper wing Balkenruse are too wide and it just looks funny to me.. I actually picked up the plastic 1/32 21st Century version and I am MUCH HAPPIER with that..

Hworth, do you have the Corgi Herritage Centre "Battle Weary" Me109, you do have it's noseart as your picture. If so would you recommend this model, what would you think was a good price for it?

Wespen,
I don't have that particular plane as it was sold out before I could get one. I did buy the Franszisket, 1./JG27, North Africa 1941 Bf109E though and it is a great plane..

One other note I will make about the Hackl 109 is that to me (my personal opinion) the colors just don't look right.. That in combination with the oversized upper wing crosses, just killed the purchase for me.. I do know however, that there are members that have this plane and like it very much, I guess its just a matter of personal taste..

I agree with Harry on the color issue on the Hackl model. I do have the battle weary 109 and I'd reccomend it I really like mine. Pricewise I really don't know what they're worth I can't even remember what I paid for mine through CHC.

Post Re: Hackl Me-109

I have added this 109 to my 1:32 collection this week ( along with a Grumpy Spit which is in the post ) & though the white crosses are too large, on my example they have been printed rather lighter that the example on the Tricatus pics so the eye is not led straight to them & it does sit very well alongside my Barkhorn 109 overall IMHO The Hackl is a good buy.
