Thumbs up Re: "Marge" P-38 supply/demand - Survey

I just tried to order my second and my usual source was already sold out. They say they had 18 in stock last Monday, of the P-38 Marge but already none, so I scrambled a bit and got one more to keep sealed. That dealer said they were down to 3 left , but did not tell me how many they had. This may sell out faster than people think and I like the Silver Scheme plus the fact that is ha a place in History based on its Battles and Pilot.

I asked the 1st about the new Typhoon Jet and was told they got in a dozen and still had 6, so this seems to be selling slower?

Re: "Marge" P-38 supply/demand - Survey

I won't be getting this one because I don't care enough for P-38s to have one be taking up precious space, paint scheme is boring and I don't like the name 'Marge'.....

In my case the name "Marge" worked to my advantage. My wife's name is Margie, and when I gave her the line that i really wanted this one becaue it was named after her, and how if I had been a WWII fighter pilot I would have painted her name on the side just like this one, etc., she fell for it hook line and sinker - so I bought 2 of them!

As far as compared to the Matchbox version, except for the obvious landing gear in the raised position only issue, I thnk they are pretty close. I like the exhaust stains around the turbochargers on the MB version - it doesn't look so showroom, squeaky clean - looks like it's seen at least a little usage. If the MB could put the gear down, they'd look great side by side.

Re: "Marge" P-38 supply/demand - Survey

I have one and that is all i need.
JP

Same here! Mine just arrived today from the Mule (just ONE--all I need) along with the "SNAFU SNATCHERS" PBY with 4 Dragon Armor, 2 Dragon FW-190's..and a Gemini ME-109 Galland. Very happy with the overall quality with the Corgi "Marge" P-38. Only thing is the funky color of the super chargers look abit off, but other than that ...she's a beaut! Looking at my 2 so-called versions of a IXO P-38....which I never liked anyway, but that was the only other die-cast out there at the time. They gotta go!
