Re: Tuesday Morning Recon?

I was there yesterday, the only thing I saw was the Code 3 collectibles Lunar Rover and 11" Apollo astronaut w/24k gold plated visor and these were 50% off. I doubt very much will be seeing anymore huge Corgi diecast dumps at TM, but I could be wrong....

I'd even settle for a middling Corgi dump......

Cap'n Eddie, some caution is advised with regard to your choice of words, especially those that are ambiguous in their meaning It's difficult enough keeping an eye on our resident mephitis inclined Skunk and his trusty sidekick Jim, without giving them even more opportunity to get into mischief ...

Re: Tuesday Morning Recon?

At lunch I wandered over to the Chico, CA, store for a look and it was pitiful. The entire toy section, which usually fills both sides of an aisle, could easily be condensed into one five foot section. Only a couple of uber-cheap airplane "models" and a car.

Hopefully they are awaiting a giant semi-truck load of Corgi castoffs to fill the vacant shelves.

Re: Tuesday Morning Recon?

Well hopefully I'm wrong (it happened once), but I think we should consider the Great TM Corgi Flood a once-in-a lifetime phenomenon and be grateful for it, and hopefully we all capitalized on it as much as possible.

I got a Blue Angels F-4J, NASA Harrier, two 1/32nd Mustangs, a B-24 Skywitch and best of all B-17 Memphis Belle out of it, all for the grand sum of $120.00, so I'm pretty happy.

I guess what I'm saying is "Don't give up hope, but don't be expecting any more manna from TM shelves either"

Re: Tuesday Morning Recon?

I guess I missed the boat altogether. I've never been to Tuesday Morning, and don't have a clue as to where the nearest one to Washington DC is. It must be far in the hinterlands; I've never even heard anyone talk about the store and don't get out of the city much.
Then again, my wife drags me on the occasional outlet-mall shopping expedition to the exurbs, and I haven't come across any discounted sources for diecast models in our travels. I guess I'll have to stick with eBay and internet retailers, as well as my local hobby shop (well, in Rockville MD).

Just go here, http://www.tuesdaymorning.com/indexCatalogOn.asp, enter your zip, and see if there's one in spelunking distance...

Re: Tuesday Morning Recon?

Aha, thanks PappyB! There's one within spitting distance of the hobby shop in Rockville, MD. I'm just not up to speed on my discount retail shopping. Will check it out next time I'm up that way and let you guys know if there's any diecast there.
