New fav B17

Just got the RAF CC B17 in my hands. I have to say I think this one is my favorite. Love the camo and the aerial realy sets it off well at the front.

Now I just have to sneek it in the house, otherwise ->

Re: New fav B17

While it isn't the CC B-17 (which is sweet too!), I just bought the CC B-24 from PappyB and I have the same feeling of rapturous joy for this model as you do with yours. They sure make a pretty addition to a collection don't they?

I also share the problem of sneaking it indoors. It will just appear under the tree with a "from Santa" tag on it!

Good plan! "here you go dear - I've just done your xmas shopping for you"

I think it might work

I thought this was one I'd missed by a mile getting at a reasonable price, but Perry's had it on special last week, and I just couldn't hold off.

Re: New fav B17

Been trying to get my hands on one of those. Already have the CC B-24 and the Wellington, just need the B-17 to finish off the trio. Love them both( can ignore the gaps). I just set the Wellington up and told the misses that it's a Christmas decoration before I turned on the Leigh light. She just didn't see the humour in it.

Criminey Kabel! Am I going to have to go against you on yet another plane!? I'm like you and need the B-17 to finish the Coastal Command trifecta.

Wouldn't it be great if the hound made a 1:72 CC Sunderland?

19 inch wingspan and would weigh the same as two B24s- reinforced display case required, I think

You are no doubt correct Herr Hitchofen. While probably impractical for most collectors (like the 1:32 Mossie), it would still be an awesome addition to a collection. Of course, as you rightly state, you would also need to add structural support to your display.

Would look extreamly cool, and I suspect a liberal use of plastic (just like in the cat) would bring the weight down.
