CC Wellington Pics

Also recieved the RAF Coastal Command Wellington MkVlll No 172 Sqd. with working Leigh Light. Also a nice model but really should have a nose gunner or spotter up front I would think.

The light is a nice touch though, it tucks up into the belly of the aircraft and you press it like a button and it springs down and comes on.
Displays nicely with my CC B-24, just need to get my hands on the CC B-17 and the CC Cat when it comes out.

Great Pictures Kabelace.....Looks like Corgi did a good job on the Wellington.

Re: CC Wellington Pics

The empty nose is the only complaint I have about the model. Maybe the guy is in back changing the bulb on the Leigh light?

Re: CC Wellington Pics

Superb photos, that joint in front of the fuselage looks a touch on the big side. Edit, I have just checked in a few books and Janes says the front turret was manned and had 2 x303s. Another book says that a pair of .05s was tried but but never went into service.

The bulb appears to be working just fine...Perhaps he's back taking a dump..

Was Consolidated the U.S. division of Vickers?..There certainly is a strong family resemblance there.....right down to that wicked join line going down the side of the fuselage!

He could very well be Skunky.

As for the join line, my model is fitted nicely all the way to the greenhouse up front. It doesn't have a gap like that shown in the pics (sorry Kabel).

I did a Google image search on the plane and came up with a few that, with one exception, looked like the Corgi version. The planes had no guns up front, but they did have a chin-mounted antenna/radome .

BTW, like that avatar Jim.

Re: CC Wellington Pics

Hey I just noticed I have developed a stutter in my last post. I am still searching for info on that one but its as rare as rocking horse manure! The dog by the way had just seen my last diecast bill.
