Re: Pics: The Rodney Dangerfield of Corgi's Heavy Lineup?

As the person who inherited this fine example of formation ship artwork from PappyB, I can say without fear of contradiction, that this plane is absolutely dazzling in person. Even more so if I look at it without my glasses as I have astigmatism. WHOA!

It really doesn't look bad at all nestled among the other heavies in my collection. Needless to say it does stand out.

I think its cool in its own right, but I just can't see getting one over a mission bird. Still if the price was right, I'd get one. Great pics.

I bought one off ebay about 2 years about for about $30.00 Thought it was a cool scheme anyway. But no guns.

Having this particular model in my collection, I must say honestly that I warmed up to it and the paint scheme really grew on me! Having said that, I believe this is really one very
nice model. Like most of you, I found and bought it at Tuesday Morning for a steal.

Sorry guys, but this is one paint job that I find "FUGLY".... Ugly.

Besides, it is painted in Georgia Tech colors ( Yellow and Black ), and I am a product of the Univ. of Georgia class of 1985 ( Red and Black ). GO DAWGS !!!

Speaking of another Corgi Eighth Air Force heavy,

What do people here think of the "Yankee Doodle" b-17 (I may be able to pick one up cheap because it is damaged)

I'm assuming I can get a new propeller from corgi spares and replace the old one with it.

Oh, and where is "Tuesday Morning"?

Re: Pics: The Rodney Dangerfield of Corgi's Heavy Lineup?

Some people don't like the Yankee Doodle, but I do. It has the unusual camo job on it, but that is how the real one looked. It is a very historic aircraft. It is not the typical example of the everyday B-17 from the 8th, but it is still pretty cool. As for the lack of guns in the B-24, I believe that to be correct. They usually took them out of the assembly ships, and field hacks.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

I very much like my Yankee Doodle, Wespen.

As for as Tuesday Morning, that is a U.S. store, I don't think you have them in your country.
