| A question about scale.... I primarily collect 1:72 scale corgi die-cast and can not help noticing that the 1:72 fighter figures are significantly smaller than for instance the figures in the big warbirds like the B-17? Is it me or is there a problem with the scale of the figures??? | |||||||||||||

| Re: A question about scale....
FIGURES! what figures? Ah so thats what those blobs in the cockpit are. the Corgi "figures in their" larger planes are larger, the figures in their smaller planes are smaller, well they would be, wouldnt they? Its a strange thing but why do Corgi insist on putting those things in the cockpits after spending so much effort on the plane? The Swordfish figures are ok so they can do it when they want it just seems that mostly they dont want too. I have just had a look at the pilot in the HE111 and compared it to those in the P40s, I would say that the He111 pilot is about 30% bigger. this is a problem with Corgi, they can make good diecast and do, but let themselves down on the finer details. | ||||||||||||||

| Re: A question about scale.... Rictor133, As Jim said above, Corgi tends to fall down the smaller details. Hence much of the frustration aimed at Corgi (At least by me.) on the forum. Personally I feel like they CAN do so much better. They just seem to say, "That's good enough for the punters." and leave things where they lie. Corgi is still the leader in this crazy little niche we find ourselves in so we expect the details and Corgi (often) fails to deliver. | |||||||||||||

| Re: A question about scale.... There seems to be variation on the detail on figures between models. However both my Wellingtons have figures that are the same size and quality (not saying that its good) of any of my single seat fighters. Perhaps Wellingtons aren't classed as 'big warbirds'. I also think that you should get as many figures with each plane as it would have originally had crew. My Wellies only have 3 figures each, the real thing was manned by six. | |||||||||||||
