| Corgi's Navy birds Ok so I may be alittle slow on this, but whats the opinion on the Hellcat, Avenger and Dauntless that Corgi is going to produce? I am looking forward to the HM Avenger, and like their SBDs. I'm also sold on the Dragon Hellcats. But I thought I'd ask and see what you all think of these releases for 2007. - Shawn | |||||||||||||

| Re: Corgi's Navy birds Hi Shawn, I may be off the mark here, but I seem to recall that Corgi's Hellcat, Avenger, and Dauntless are going to be repackaged HobbyMaster models. Corgi isn't even changing the markings. What the purpose of or benefit to HobbyMaster doing this eludes me. If it becomes buy HobbyMaster's model for a lot less money than Corgi sells it for, then I'm really confused. I'm sure each model will be a beautiful model. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Corgi's Navy birds As much as it pains me to do so, I guess I'm going to have to see them before I can begin casting aspersions upon them.... | |||||||||||||

| Re: Corgi's Navy birds I guess the only reason to go after the Corgi Hellcats, as oposed to the Dragon versions, would be to get a different livery. I'm definitely looking into the British Hellcat, myself. And as Senor HotTrap has stated, Corgi's brids are just repackaged HobbyMaster models. So what is the advantage to buying the Corgi version as opposed to the HobbyMaster version? I believe HobbyMaster is going to sell them cheaper than Corgi, so its not price. The HobbyMaster versions will also likely be out before the Corgi versions, also. The Corgi benefits may be the nifty packaging, the information they will give with the plane (but you can get great plane info. about the HobbyMaster versions off the HobbyMasternews website), but most of all the Corgi benefit will be the tokens off the packaging that you collect to turn in for a free Corgi plane (I believe the WW2 plane is a Halifax). I think you have to get 6 tokens to get the free plane. So if you're really after a free Halifax, and you have other Corgis you will buy in 2007, then wait for theirs. Otherwise go for the HobbyMaster if they have a livery you want that Dragon hasn't done. It'll probably be cheaper than the Corgi and it will get here sooner. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Corgi's Navy birds I would think the Hobby Master ones will come out first before Corgi does. At least that is what it looks like for the Bush Avenger. JP | |||||||||||||

| Re: Corgi's Navy birds
I don't believe the Predator line, (re boxed HM planes) qualify for the promotion. Only aircraft in the Aviation Archive will have the tokens. So if you are looking at any of these, save your money and get the HM version. Unless you want the story book that's coming with them. | ||||||||||||||
