The nose still looks too blunt. It is a nice looking paperweight as Skunky calls them

Re: FM exclusive P-51B has arrived..

I hope Tricatus doesn't mind- I've taken his excellent photos of the new Corgi and the Gemini and Photoshopped them together. Note that the Corgi is a Malcolm hood bird and Gemini isn't. Also looks to me like the camera was at slightly different distances from each model so it is difficult to line them up perfectly. Ignore the length differences and look more at the details and overall shapes.

Oh-dear - Still thats one less hit to the credit card.

Yes those pic are different angles, but enven so the cockpit on the corgi looks terrible. it's shorter and higher - That could be what is giving the nose the dumpy look. The tails look different shapes to.

Ooops!

The GA model doesn't have the manufacturers logo under the nose together with a big rivet to hold it all together.

Corgi wont like that picture getting around as much as Gemini will.

Re: FM exclusive P-51B has arrived..

Thanks 1250ships for putting those two photos together.

Now it would be interesting to lay a P-51A profile against the Corgi to see if some of it's odd look isn't the result of trying to do both an A and B variant off the same basic mold. The bottom nose cowling profile is different between the A and B and the corgi model shows this as a separate (therefore changeable) part. I don't have access to my library at the moment to check if the tail fin and rudder were different between the A and B. We know the Allison had it's air scoop on the top, and that may have influenced the lack of curvature along the top of the cowling. The canopy is just too big. But I like the detailed air vent on the side of the lower nose cowling and the glossy metallic look of the finish.

Gemini has the profile nailed. I can't wait for the Dragon P-51B to show up.

Re: FM exclusive P-51B has arrived..

I was so excited about getting another Tuskegee for my collection too. Looks like that Creamers Dream P-51D was my last. Unless Gemini or Dragon do a P-51B Tuskegee I am done. Corgi messed this mold up for sure. The fuselage is too thick in the back and the nose is too thin and the top of the engine cover appears flat. I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo over Corgi mustangs. I have never seen a company all over the board in quality as Corgi what gives?
