1/32 'Battle Scarred' Spitfire (Lane)

Given the (hopefully temporary) demise of the 1/32 Corgi range, I've finally decided to purchase the 1/32 'Battle Scarred' Spitfire (Lane) to keep my Barkhorn Bf109G company. Luckily, one that I've been tracking for some time was still available (at a King's ransom) so I decided it's now or never - my wife was extremely supportive on this .

Hopefully, the positive comments about this model will be reflected in my experience when it arrives - I'll try and limit myself to only two 1/32 scale aircraft (at least that's the plan) .

One sheep to rule them all ...

Good Luck - certainly looks good in the pix.

Hope you can stomach the unusual Yellow prop spinner ?

I reckon the rest of it looks great.

I have mine on display with a Hurricane, and love it to death. I think it is one of the best.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Thumbs up Re: 1/32 'Battle Scarred' Spitfire (Lane)

Good for you Cardinal! Great choice! I've been on the hunt for one for moons now. Of course you know you need Grumpy's QV-H to go with QV-K! I was always focussed on QV-K but recently learned that Grumpy was also highly desirable.

Hi Cardinal, excellent choice. IMHO I think the Lane Spit is the absolute pick of the 1/32 bunch by a long chalk. It wouldn't be too unrealistic to expect this model to go up in value significantly as time passes. I have a Lane and an Unwin and love them both.

I have the battle scarred Spit and the Barkhorn. I can't think of two other aircraft that represent that epic battle in the skies better than these two. Mine sit on opposite ends of my livingroom bookcase and they look terrific. Good choice on your part.

Lane's Spit is one of my Favs and the best Spit of the lot... Unfortunately, I missed out on Grumpy's, but one large Spit is enought for me...

Is one REALLY enough hworth? I unpacked some of my large models this afternoon, Spit PR-F, Gotz Bf 109, P51 Old Crow (od) & BBD along with Lancaster KM-B. All really great models. Even got Mrs. Van to have a look. She fancied BBD! Well what do know!? I've been priming her for a few more additions in the not too distant future.
