Re: 1/32 'Battle Scarred' Spitfire (Lane)

Is one REALLY enough hworth? I unpacked some of my large models this afternoon, Spit PR-F, Gotz Bf 109, P51 Old Crow (od) & BBD along with Lancaster KM-B. All really great models. Even got Mrs. Van to have a look. She fancied BBD! Well what do know!? I've been priming her for a few more additions in the not too distant future.

Considering that my 1/32 A/C collection is numbering in the 40 range, I have more pressing needs, like a Lanc....

Re: 1/32 'Battle Scarred' Spitfire (Lane)

Re Spitfire,I have just seen one on Ebay at £78 and the bidding isnt finished yet!
Given the (hopefully temporary) demise of the 1/32 Corgi range, I've finally decided to purchase the 1/32 'Battle Scarred' Spitfire (Lane) to keep my Barkhorn Bf109G company. Luckily, one that I've been tracking for some time was still available (at a King's ransom) so I decided it's now or never - my wife was extremely supportive on this .

Hopefully, the positive comments about this model will be reflected in my experience when it arrives - I'll try and limit myself to only two 1/32 scale aircaft (at least that's the plan) .

God Bless America.

This Spitfire eventually went for £105 plus change! I had posted some notes to that effect over the weekend but they have since disappeared?!

On the bright side, this spit completely drew the attention off another which I bagged for £41 with some assistance from David Cotton on the UK forum!

Unhappily postage here horrendous! Still, after a long hunt I'm most please even though postage is in excess of what the model cost.

Re: 1/32 'Battle Scarred' Spitfire (Lane)

Well, I received my 'Battle Scarred' Spitfire (in battle scarred box) yesterday and returned it to the vendor today as it came with a busted prop. .

Although it seemed that it may have been repairable if one took apart the prop. assembly, I decided not to attempt it as I did not want to cause any additional damage. The whole sorry saga has left me out of pocket to the tune of approx US$40 (return shipping costs) that are unlikely to be recoverable .

I doubt that I'm destined to own one of these sought-after items ... .

Re: 1/32 'Battle Scarred' Spitfire (Lane)

Props are an easy fix if you can get the replacement part from Corgi.

I'd be very interested to learn what method would you use...for a liberator and spitfire?
