Re: Corgi 1/32 DEAD after 2006

Are you guys really getting positive vibes about Corgi reviving their 1:32nd line or is it just 'wishfull-thinking' ?

I think Corgi flooded the market with to many 1/32 in to short a time frame. There are still to many cheap Mustangs, Hurricanes, Me109's around. The rarer Mosquito can still be got in the PR version for £50 in the UK shops (they were £120 on release). The last Working range Spitfire can still be got for £70 and the prototype for £40, both new.

To revive the 1/32 I think they would need a new mould and very limited releases....500 at a time.

The exsiting castings need a long to rest to clear the decks of them. 2 years should do it.

However, In 2 years time I would like them to release the Mosquito in a solid nose version and the Spitfire in Garfield Weston colours (Grey and Green).

Re: Corgi 1/32 DEAD after 2006

You are so right on that one .

Lets hope the Hobby Master rumors bare some fruit. I would like almost any combat aircraft in 1/32 (or 1/35) , as long as the standard is good.

I pray to the die cast gods, that Hobby Master do not turn out one like the FOV 109

Good point, but based on what HM has done so far in other scales (granted, nt without occasional flaws), I'm pretty optimistic. Let's see what happens.

And yes, FOV large-scales are out for me, at least with their current standards. They just don't do anything at all for me.

Re: Corgi 1/32 DEAD after 2006

I only have 4 Lane 1/32 Spitfires, and at the moment I want to hang onto them .

Only FOUR huh? Curious... how many would you have to have to reach somewhere into the vague realm of "MANY?"

I guess I could tell your wife! Maybe that would loosen your grip on at least one! (Ok... I won't, I wouldn't do that to a diecast brother... even if he hordes all the good models to himself).
