Re: Corgi 1/32 DEAD after 2006

Since my whole collection is 1/32 then it looks like I'm kind of screwed. Oh well there is always FOV (sounds of sarcastic sniggering in the background). I'm sure the pooch could have made a better job of it if they tried more inventive liveries. Give me a Croatian 109 and I would buy it.

Taff, you must either have a small collection, a large house, or you do not display too many of your aircraft!

Post Re: Corgi 1/32 DEAD after 2006

Many thanks for the welcome Captain regarding the HE111s my mind was delving way back into the mists of antiquity recalling an article in the local newspaper on the loan aircraft.
After all these years I could have got muxed ip, I still wonder how they got permission to blow up one of the hangars.....these are now listed buildings.

Could be cool to see a 1/32nd scale F-86.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

The FW190 seems an obvious choice, the ME262 would look impressive too.

Re: Corgi 1/32 DEAD after 2006

Hi Captain, I have 13 Corgis plus a load of 21st Century. It is all on display but the only place I am allowed to put my stuff is in the family room in the basement.

Re: Corgi 1/32 DEAD after 2006

So Corgi's bowing out of 1/32. This is good news for those of us who bought several. Right now, I have Hartmann's BF-109, the PR-F Spit, Douglas Bader's DB, Old Crow, Big Beautiful Doll, Bader's Hurricane, the Indomitable Sea Hurricane, and the Wright Brothers Flyer. All these machines make up a nice selection of airplanes, and when you add them to GMP's 1/35 selection, make up a great display. I think that Corgi's focusing on its root collection, that and the fact that these 1/32 machines are so large, and have so many features does likely make this line less profitable than their 1/72 and 1/144 line. I also have numerous 1/32 kits from the prewar era too, which I plan on making a display to showcase the golden age of aviation. So from here on out, I'll be waiting to see when GMP will release in the future. Hopefully their Corsair will come out soon...and someday a Hellcat to complete my selection of the best airplanes of all time.

Re: Corgi 1/32 DEAD after 2006

I have just managed to buy the Barkhorn Me109 in 1/32nd scale to complete the collection of 5 Me109s. I have been very lucky and have not paid more than £29.00 for the most expensive one and £17.00 for the cheapest. (RED 6 which IMHO is brilliant). The problem is that I love this scale and want to add at least one Spit and Hurricane and of course a Mustang. The prices of these are too rich for me at the moment (except the Mustangs) BUT should I bite the bullet and pay the money in the belief that they will go up in price OR should I hold off a while and hope they fall in price?? Decisions decisions. What do you chaps think??

God Bless America.

I know how you feel, Jim. I've got three 1/32nd Spits and would love to obtain a full set.

Smile Re: Corgi 1/32 DEAD after 2006

Careful now! There is a school of thought that the prices of some, like the Spit, will not come down. They are even scarce on E-bay. For the P51s & 109s prices are probably as low as they'll go and start climbing. Hurris, not much loved need to come down. Mossies, great, but huge. Grab one if you can! Postage may be a challenge.

I'll be getting more of the 109's and a Grumpy Spitfire and then i'm done with the 1/32 line.
