Cool Re: Good deal I think?

Let us know what you reckon, on the nose joint, of both the '17 & especially of the '24 ???????

It does'nt appear to be as bad on 'Strawberry Bitch', as it does on some of the Olive Drab versions - though I've gotta say I was dissapointed with my (only) B'24's nose join (the Coastal Command 2 tone Grey & White).

Well first off, that is a good deal for those @ 257.00 total! On the nose seam issue I do agree, though I gave in a long time ago to this "diecast" concession. As a model builder as well as collector, these seams drove me nuts @ first though as time goes on I have become a bit more philosophical and forgiving of this. I used to collect the 48th scale Franklin Mint planes and some of those seams are HUGE! My "cookie" bomber Mosquito was so bad I finally gave in and puttied, sanded and re-painted the nose area.
I do hope though that the diecast manufacturers will continue to find ways to deal with the seam issues through careful design and assembly, though with the need for differing variants of the models I do understand the financial imperative of getting the most out of their molds. I hate compromise but there it is.
