Corgi 1:72 Plane Sets

Mates of all the 3 planes or 2 planes sets that Corgi makes in 1:72nd which set is the best.
Which one is your favorite set to have and why?
I put Johnson's Spitfire 3 plane set in the poll but it's not out yet.

Re: Corgi 1:72 Plane Sets Poll

Merlins over Malta is imho the best of them all. They are superb especially the Hurricane. They represent the amazing and epic conflict over Malta. Perhaps aviations greatest air battle. ( I may be biased ).

The 8th Air Force. I got this set at TM for $29.99! My best Corgi bargain by far!

Re: Corgi 1:72 Plane Sets

Only have 3 of the sets posted so I voted from them and went with the Pathfinder set. How can you beat a Lanc and a Mossie in one box, that's some heavy metal. If I had the BoB Memorial Flight set I would vote for it, still looking for one.

Re: Corgi 1:72 Plane Sets

I have the Spit/109 dogfight, 8th AF, Spit/Mossie PR, P51/Mossie Suez sets. Can't think of anything else right now but for me the holy grail is the BBMF set.

Awesome Lanc with two great accompaning aircraft plus I've seen them display, I want that set! I reckon the Lanc is Corgis' best heavy period. Colours on this one are real cool too.

Re: Corgi 1:72 Plane Sets

I chose the Blitz set because all three aircraft in it have great appeal.

Question Re: Corgi 1:72 Plane Sets

Can't figure the Blitz set currently top of the charts. I'm confused. Really. I passed it up, only liked the 109. Boring He111. Hhhmmm, to each his own I guess. What works for you, works for you.

Re: Corgi 1:72 Plane Sets

How is a Pathfinder He-111 and Heinz Barr's Me-109 boring, and it's certainly more accurate than most other sets, including the Lanc Pathfinder set.
