Fairey Swordfish - Sink the Bismark

I final received my Swordfish models. They were worth the wait. I thought the Gladiator was good, but these are better. My thoughts followed by some pictures.

The wings outboard of the fold point are plastic. The folding seems to work OK but I wonder about the long term strength. Might be a concern if you like to play at carrier ops. The resulting seam in the wings is much more apparent in the pre-war aircraft. The camo covers it well in this plane.

There is an arrestor hook that swings into the fuselage.

The crew seem to be fixed in place but I suspect a determined collector could remove them. They are above average for crew in this scale.

I had no problems with rigging and see just a few minor flaws in the paint.

My copy did not include a number certificate. Not sure if you are supposed to get one with the Bismark plane.

Highly recommended!

Re: Fairey Swordfish - Sink the Bismark

I agree with you. I just got my Bismark Swordfish the other day. I am really glad that I bought this one.

The Bismarck Swordfish was an unlimited release 1250, so you're not missing any numbered stuff. I agree with your review though. Definitely one of my favourites for 2006. Thanks for the great pics.

Re: Fairey Swordfish - Sink the Bismark

Does anyone know if the floatplane version will have the wings that fold back?

Great pics Harry! I just got mine yesterday from the Mule with 6 other 'goodies'. Very nice model and the folding wings is neat too! A+++++
