Re: Decertified Aircraft......Opinions please?

This sounds like a bureaucratic cluster!

I can' t think of one good reason for this. I understand that you can semi-effectively reduce the production run potentially increasing the models value, but my certificate says otherwise so that ideas worthless.

Yes, you could sell it for less, but why do you have to remove the certificate to do that? More importantly, you inadvertently reduce the value of my certified issue by creating the confusion and doubt. I bet retailers are going to love having their customers opening every box to verify if it’s certified or not.

Maybe this makes Corgi eligible for some type of tax relief for inventory liquidation. I don't know, but it sound foolish to me.

Corgi reps, register and explain this to us.

Re: Decertified Aircraft......Opinions please?

I like the certificates. Around here there is nothing worth buying when you can find anything, so when I buy a model, I want it to have the whole package. The S&H is the same certificate or not!
I do think that when they want to dump unsold models, it is a good practice to de-cert the planes. It makes those who bought at full price or at some higher value, feel that they have not been screwed. For those who care about cost only, it is a good deal, and for those who want the full package, they will pay slightly more (in theory ony, which of course ignores what evilbay can do to pricing expectations...).

I actually think that Corgi has it right in this strategy as it benefits everyone and differentiates the product between price point releases. Also, the reduced count of those which are fully complete does make them slightly harder to find.

OK I'm done...

May the farts be with you, and not me.
