P-40s for 2007

Is anyone else disappointed with the selection of P-40s to come in 2007, or is it just me? With the variety of colorful schemes displayed by the Warhawk, why these?
- Do we really need TWO more schemes from the 49thFG?
- If they are to do a Checkertail from the 325thFG, why that ugly da*ned black and red hack of Baseler's? That ship never saw combat in that scheme. Besides, it should be a long-tailed, L-model anyway.
- The announced Kittyhawk MkIV in the Warbirds series might not be all bad. While that particular scheme seems a bit ho-hum at least it indicates that Corgi may have a long-tailed P-40N mold to work more with in the future. I'd like to finally see a glaring skull from the 80thFG from India!

While I'm on my Corgi/P-40 rants, why has it taken so long for them to come back to that excellent Merlin engined F-model mold that they started the P-40s with? There are several more deserving aircraft from the MTO and Guadacanal that could utilize that mold. AND, if they would combine the Merlin engine with the long-tail from the P-40N, I might finally get my favorite Hawk modeled: Austin's Lighthouse Louie from the 325th.

Sorry Guys, I don't chime in here very often but had to get this off my chest.

Re: P-40s for 2007

I hear you. I thought there were some odd choices.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: P-40s for 2007

I pretty much agree with you buckiav8r. I'd love to see a true "N" version from Corgi. Heck I'd even pay their outrageous prices for one! I do like the black and red Baseler's P-40. It would add color and character to my otherwise camoed P-40E collection. I did customize an IXO P-40N with the skull from the 80thFG. Looks good, but still a Corgi mold would be a great improvement. While we're at it, a P-40B/C would be great too.
