Favorite Lancaster

Which Corgi 1/72 Lancaster is your favorite and why? Are there any that are simply junk and why? I don't know much about them but plan to settle on one for my collection but I would like to hear your opinions.

Re: Favorite Lancaster

There's not many left to be had. I'd have to say "Dam Busters" and "Grand Slam" are must have versions.

Re: Favorite Lancaster

My two favorites are S for Sugar and G for George. To this day, I still kick myself for not buying at least one when I had the chance!

At the time, I wasn't into Corgi and $130 seemed like a lot of cash for just one plane. Live and learn.

I still hold out hope that Corgi puts another standard version out there some day. Not too intertested in the specials.

Re: Favorite Lancaster

The Lancaster is the one iconic 'heavy' that I'm still trying to add to my collection (every time I think I've found one, someone else with deeper pockets seems to nab it right out from under me ).

G for George would definitely be my first choice although I may eventually settle for the RCAF Rescue version as it also seems pretty cool (and not as pricey).

Re: Favorite Lancaster

I would have a favorite if I could buy one for a decent price.........speaking of..............why doesn't Corgi make more I'm talking about a standard run of the mill bomber not a special version.

I couldn't agree more with you Planenuts - bring it on Corgi, a NEW Lancaster without the Sights 'n Sounds ...

Ditto. I recently started looking for the "Dambuster" or the "Grand Slam". That's what I'll pick up if I can catch one.

Re: Favorite Lancaster

For me it was S for Sugar as this was the plane that started me on my diecast crusade.

Such a lovely looking plane and was a bargain at the time of £30=$65

Would kill to now get one at that price
