Corgi B-17 Memphis Belle

I was very lucky to find this Corgi B-17 Memphis Belle 1:72 scale.
After seeing what everyone was saying about the best B-17 Corgi made.
I found one....With a little help from Gavin pointing me in the right direction where was for sell and it was the last one they had too.
Check out the pictures.

Re: Corgi B-17 Memphis Belle

Nice pictures. Nice model.
(Just curious - what did you have to pay for it?)

I had to pay $129.00 that included UPS 2 day shipping.

It is a great one. My one and only Fort .

Won't tell you what I paid for it.

Certain AM sale.

Don't forget the targets are my airfields, Leigh-Mallory, and you're not getting fifty, you're not even getting ten.

Re: Corgi B-17 Memphis Belle

It's the only B-17 I have and it's one of my favorites in the collection I just wish I would have found one at Tuesday Morning instead of paying the premium I had to

Re: Corgi B-17 Memphis Belle

Here's a questionf ro all those paint experts out there. How long did this 2 tone green camoflage scheme last before they went to the plain olive drab?

Re: Corgi B-17 Memphis Belle

Well to be honest, never really. The B-17's were delivered in the standard O.D. over gray paint scheme. It was up to the C.O. of each unit to apply the field camo (if at all). Some units did not. It was also up to them on where to apply it. Col. Stanley Rey(not sure on the spelling) was the commander of the 91st BG, 324th Heavy Bombardment Squadron. It was his decision to take it off as well in late 1944. Some units used it right up until it was decided not to paint the aircraft in the factories at all.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.
