Re: New BBMF releases announced..

I'll go for these two but I'm not really interested in the Showcase stuff.

I will too.. I'll have to call Onmark Monday to see if they have an allocation for these..

Spoke with Martin at TFM in email -- he spoke with the corgi rep and NONE of the sets have been allocated for the U.S., unfortunately... we'll have to go fishing across the pond if we want 'em badly enough I guess, which begs the question -- where would be the best place to order one for U.S. delviery?

Not sure I'll pony up for it, now, but I like the idea of having both BOBMF sets in the collection....

Re: New BBMF releases announced..

Maybe if enough dealers complain Corgi will increase the quantity for the box set and send some to us.

If the box set is not available then I'd be interested in the Lancaster but the shipping cost from the UK would be too high.

I would be happy with the idea of having one BOBMF set in my collection.

...NONE of the sets have been allocated for the U.S.

That's a huge disappointment as this is one of the VERY rare cases where I'd have paid Corgi's RRP. Whatever the reason, this is a mistake for Corgi not to market the sets in the US, where the first BBMF set sold very well. So it's only going to be sold in the UK, as the set via retailers and as individual models via ModelZone, which for me means I'll eventually get the Hurricane (which I MUST have - love that livery!) but not the set, not with the cost of overseas shipping!

Oh that's rich!

I wish.

Re: New BBMF releases announced..

BBC2 TV had a fab programme tonight on the 50th Anniversary of the BBMF. Interviews with the pilots, preparation for the new season, superb air to air shots of the aircraft. It also showed work being done on the Lancaster and the unveiling of 'Phantom of The Ruhr' aircraft. The timing and planning of getting the the aircraft over Buckingham Palace at exactly 1.00 for the Queen's birthday using stop watches and London landmarks was brilliant. I'm sure it will be picked up by a stateside channel. Well worth a look.

Re: New BBMF releases announced..

Corgi's behaviour with regard to the ridiculously low number of BBMF sets and the 'UK exclusiveness' of the single issue Phantom of the Ruhr Lancaster is nothing short of disgraceful . There is incredible pent up demand for this particular piece of diecast and what do they do - they the collectors !.

What -- I missed that... the single issue lanc is exclusive to the U.K.? That is really curious... to say the least.

To the best of my knowledge (from the UK forum) the individual BBMF POTR Lancaster is an exclusive commission for ModelZone in the UK (1350 limited run)... .

Corgi has well and truly collectors outside the UK!
