Re: New BBMF releases announced..

If they make these available in the U.S. through some retailer(s) then I doubt they will follow the same 2x conversion. Probably $199 or less What in England costs £40 costs about $40 here. Look at the new Vampire. If they are not made available to the U.S. and we have get them from the UK only then forget it b/c the shipping will be $150 That means $500 for the set. Ewscre atthey!

As an aside, Corgi is dumb!

They could sell 3000 of these sets and should stock it, and all other museum planes, at their respective museums indefinately. They'd make a killing. Love to have this set but am not hocking my other 3 Lancs to make it happen.

I agree about selling them at museums 100% I think that's a huge untapped source to me.

Re: New BBMF releases announced..

I posted a question on the CorgiUSA forum asking if any sets would be allocated to US vendors. Here's the reply:

Hi butcherbird,

Please accept my apologies for not getting back with you sooner. I have been away at Comic-Con.

This is true and there will be some allocated to the US, about 50 of them, however they are already sold out.

If you need anything else please let me know. I would be happy to help.

Amy

Crikey!!! I didn't know they were even being offered for sale yet.
Anybody here lucky enough to pre-order a set?

I do not believe that these were offered for sale. I'd love to see your response to that terse and uninformative little blip.

Yeah, seems kind of funny that no one here could find out who would be selling them. Nothing gets by this bunch

My reply was actually quite cordial. In the past, it was pretty hard to get any type of response to a question.

My guess would be they mean that the 50 sets have already been alloted to U.S. retailers.... not individuals... so they are "sold out" in terms of distribution ??

I'd still keep an eye out for preorders...

I agree.. Retailers were probably alloted a few each, so, call your local retailer if you want to get on the list..

Pappy and Harry are right. I gave the folks at the Flying Mule a call and they are still available. No price has been set yet.

Is it just the multi-plane set we're talking about, or individual planes, too? I'm interested in just the Spit and Hurri...

Re: New BBMF releases announced..

I still have a Lancaster missing in my collection, have to have the hurricane and won't mind another Spitfire. So I will try to get me a set...

And I like the idea of having one of the very few BBMF sets in the Netherlands... My diecast budget will be totally spent for 2007, but that just might be healthy...

Re: New BBMF releases announced..

1/32 Scale BBMF Hurricane r.r.p £89.99 Quota 1000
1/72 Scale BBMF Set (Lancaster, Spitfire, Hurricane) r.r.p £169.99 Quota 150 (yes 150)

I'll go for these two but I'm not really interested in the Showcase stuff.
