How about one free model for each three purchased. Or, how about an interest free Corgi credit card. Or, how about everyone on this forum winning the lottery!

| Re: Corgi 2007 Releases: Fighter Ace History I would love to see the P-38 JEWBOY, flown by my friend Phil Goldstein ( 15 kills) but he is against it and the name JEWBOY would upset some. (he was the only jewish pilot in his sqrn, the49th flying out of Foggia, Italy. how he got the nose art JEWBOY is a good story. | |||||||||||||

Too bad, I was looking forward to this P-38 livery. I don't get as to how JEWBOY in this particular context would upset anyone? Regards, Sergey

| Re: Corgi 2007 Releases: Fighter Ace History He gave me a signed photo of him at his aircraft JEWBOY. I proudly show it to many and some reaction is negative before they learn the story. I agree with you | |||||||||||||

USA US33823 NEW! Republic P-47D-11 Thunderbolt 42-75510 Major Francis “Gabby” Gabreski, Commanding Officer of the 61st Fighter Squadron / 56th Fighter Group, Halesworth, 1944 Fourth Quarter 2007 This aircraft was the third P-47 assigned to Gabreski following the 56th FG’s arrival in the ETO in January 1943. Issued to the 61st FS CO in December 1943, it was a favorite of Gabreski’s — indeed, he kept flying it until May 1944, when it was replaced by a brand new natural-metal P-47D-22 42-25864. By then, Gabreski had used the fighter to down ten of his eventual 28 kills in the ETO. Duly transferred to the Ninth Air Force’s 373rd FG, 42-75510 was eventually lost in action on August 15, 1944, while flying from Tour-en-Bessin, in France.

USA US35814 NEW! North American F-86E-10 Sabre 51-2746 Colonel Francis “Gabby” Gabreski, Commanding Officer of the 51st Fighter Interceptor Wing, Suwon, South Korea, 1952 Fourth Quarter 2007 Although F-86E-10 LADY FRANCES was the personal mount of five-kill ace Major Bill Wescott, who named it after his wife, the fighter was also periodically flown by Colonel Francis S. Gabreski, CO of the 51st FW and a 28-kill ace from WWII. Gabreski had already destroyed two MiGs with the 4th FW prior to arriving at Suwon. He would subsequently down 4.5 communist jets while leading the 51st, with his all-important fifth kill, on April 13, 1952. Gabreski chose to fly with the 25th FS simply because the unit was combat ready ahead of the 16th FS. Wescott also enjoyed success on April 13, claiming two MiG victories. Although Wescott left the 51st FW in late August 1952 (after serving as CO of the 39th FS for two months), 51-2746 remained a part of the 25th FS until it was lost on November 21 that same year. The Sabre’s pilot, 2nd Lt. Peter D. Blakely, ejected when he ran out of fuel after engaging a formation of MiG-15s that were attempting to attack F-84s just south of the Yalu River. Blakely landed on Cho-do Island and was quickly returned to Suwon.
