Re: Corgi 2007 Releases: Warbirds Series

I was considering the heavy bombers in this range. Having seen the catalogs and discovering they are 1/144 that rules them out for me.

Re: Corgi 2007 Releases: Warbirds Series

Not so hasty, 1250ships . . .

I have now bopped through both the U.S. and the U.K. catalogs. They have all the same planes, but I noticed a discrepancy between the catalogs for the two heavy bombers in the Warbirds Series.

The U.S. catalog states they are 1/72 scale while the U.K. catalog states that they are in 1/144!

So which one is right? Can anyone out there give a definitive answer?

Personally, I'll probably get that sweet little British B-17 if its in 1/144 . . .

Re: Corgi 2007 Releases: Warbirds Series

Interesting.... I guess time will tell. If they are 1/72 and priced right I'd be willing to get them even if they are gear up only models. However I see on the Flying Mule that the current Warbirds B-17 and Lancaster are listed as 1/144 so I suspect the UK catalog is correct and that is just an oversite in the US one. I find it hard to believe they would shift scales like that when the goal is hitting a price point.

And don't forget about the 2nd Galland 109e.

And the Tuck Hurri.....
And the Bader Spit.....

I think your post in another thread may be spot on.
Wouldn't surprise me to see the Donald Duck Spit in the next wave!

Thumbs up Re: Corgi 2007 Releases: Warbirds Series

If anyone from Corgi is looking in can I venture a little suggestion. Make a 1/72 Stirling please. The wing on the Sunderland is the same so you wont have to spend on those. You have the moulds for other smaller parts so what are you waitng for? Every one who bought the Lanc and soon to purchase the Halifax will have no choice but to buy the Stirling so they will have the "big three". Its a sure fire winner!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, short stirling looks real interesting, however I would rather get a 1/72 short sunderland, although I dont think that will ever happen.

Re: Corgi 2007 Releases: Warbirds Series

Brilliant,I would buy both. For Corgi this would be a 2 for the price of one almost. Come on Corgi, think about it!
