I can't help, but sure do love those Tin Cans. My father served on the USS Hopewell.

Re: Fletcher class destroyer

Thank you very much for the information Smartd. I'll try to meet 1250 ships. And for Shawn thanks also, I must say that, the attached file, is a very interesting photo. My father was Admiral in Spanish Navy and it had five Fletcher class destroyers sold from USN. Do you know the web Tin Can Sailors?. It is very good.

Thanks again

As far as I know there are no plastic Fletchers in 1/1250. Lots of metal ones though. Counting sisterships there are at least 15 different metal versions. Of those only four are in current production but many of the others can be found second hand.

Re: Fletcher class destroyer

Thank you very much for your answer. It's very, very difficult to find it but... there is some builder who makes plastic ships in 1/1200 or 1/1250 scale?.
Best regards.

Re: Fletcher class destroyer

There are some plastic kits, mostly in 1/1200 scale. Other than the Revell kits I believe they are mostly out of production. Eagle for example made kits in the 60s and 70s so those are now 30+ years out of print.

There are also a few German produced plastic models. Trident issued several post war US carrier in plastic, probably because it was easier than metal casting something that big. HDS did a wide range of ships in plastic though the quality on these is not that great.

Finally there are several producers who cast in resin instead of metal. The UK market is especially into resin. Some refer to these as plastic.
