Hasegawa 1/48th F-4E Phantom II

This is the 1/48th scale Hasegawa F-4E Phantom II, finished in the markings of the New Jersey Air National Guard's 141st FS 108th TFW flying from McGuire AFB.

I made this model a few years back, but last year dug it out for a spruce up. The decals were all in good order, and after a clean up with damp kitchen towel, I painted the entire model with Xtracolour satin varnish to seal the decals in and give a "painted on" appearance. This will of course help prevent the decals deteriorating later on. The main paint job was handpainted with Humbrol colours.

The model was finished straight from the box, except the AN/ALQ-131 ECM pod, which I had kicking about in my spares box. The ground crew are from a Hasegawa box set, and the tow bar and weapons loader are from an old Esci kit I built years ago. The hardstanding matting is by Verlinden.

Just got to love that tiger artwork on the nose, hope you like it too!

You are on a roll, buddy! I have a 3-4 Hasegawa 1/48th kits of the Spook still unbuilt I'm afraid. Did your F-4 come with those 'high-tek' (photo-etched parts and metal components detailing kit)???

Cheers! No there's no photo etched parts, this one's straight out of the box. The ladder came with it too which was kinda nice!

It's currently sitting looking pretty on my desk, along with a Black Bunny F-4J, and my FGR.2!

Another sharp looking model, you definitely have been busy.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.
