Revell SE.5a

Here's a kit built ages ago, the 1/48th SE-5a from Revell. This model is dedicated to a great uncle who flew with the RFC during WWI and failed to return. Lest we forget.

Re: Revell SE.5a

NOW WE'RE TALKIN'! I love the WW I birds. I actually have this model, as yet unbuilt. I can guarantee it won't look as good as yours once done, unless someone ELSE builds it! (nonetheless, I like the few builds I've done)

Re: Revell SE.5a

Oh yes........Very nice looking SE5A...I just got my Corgi Bishop diecast one...But this one is far better.
Wish Corgi made it as good as yours....
Great Job.

Nice touch with the pilot figure. Classy!

Re: Revell SE.5a

This begs the question, which model the Revell or Corgi has the correct wing dihedral? Great pics by the way, I am such a sucker for WWI kites.

Model in picture looks pretty close to this one.

Re: Revell SE.5a

Thanks guys. Yes the SE.5a has always been my favorite WWI machine, and we're lucky enough to have a genuine WWI SE.5a flying at the Shuttleworth Collection not far from here. She's been undergoing work for the past two seasons, but should be flying again this year and I for one am excited about seeing her again along with the Sopwith Pup.
