Wow, there's always a critic! Just kidding, good catch. Seeing as how there aren't too many 1/72 paratroopers, especially ones molded in a "standing in the doorway" pose, my friend had to modify one and I wasn't going to complain. I think this one was originally molded in an "on the ground struggling with my chute" pose.

Seriously! Didn't Dragon released one not too long ago?...not a specific Dick Winters figure, but a Lt. from Easy Company?

| Re: 1/72 Italeri C-47 "Richard Winters, D-Day" Excellent work on the model - love the "spinning" props - and the display itself. My compliments to your friend and to you & your father for your want of this historical tribute! | |||||||||||||

| Re: 1/72 Italeri C-47 "Richard Winters, D-Day" Those spinning props are Photo Etched parts . I saw some in local hobby shop , i personally didn't like them , very fragile and dust magnates .. easily bent when dusting . even with a make up brush . Love the model though ![]() | |||||||||||||

| Re: 1/72 Italeri C-47 "Richard Winters, D-Day"
Chris, Glad you like it! As it to the props, these are NOT photo-etch. Basically, he takes an acrylic disc of the appropriate size for the blades and removes the correct number of "wedges." For example, three bladed prop = three wedges, four bladed prop = four wedges. He then feathers the remaining edges using a Dremel tool. He paints and weathers the disc and ends up with the result you see here. Like I said earlier, the guy is good!
