Whirlwinds

I have been buildig a series of RAF Whirlwind helicopters recently (the Westland developments of the S55) all using the Italeri H-19A and H-19B kits with the Heritage Aviation resin nose for the HAR 10

H-19A Chickasaw




22 Sqn Whirlwind HAR 2







84Sqn Whirlwind HAR 10






155 Sqn HC 4 ,Malaya 1954






SAR line up

What did you do to ensure that the would-be tail-sitters didn't become tail-sitters?

They are all 1/72.

I have also build a H19 from Italaeri : Superb little kit !

What a progress over the Whirlwind from Airfix, I had built when I was teenage...!

Just requires a little lead in the nose, not to become a tail sitter...
