Re: Huey UH-1D

No I like choppers. I am in the air ambulance industry. We do Evac with our birds, and to us the huey is a legend. Great job.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

I love Choppers. I can't wait to see your Cobra.

Re: Huey UH-1D

Great job Chris. How many hours did you put into this build?

Re: Huey UH-1D

The Heuy took between 20 -26 hours , even the inside is weathered inc engine .. both rotors turn , doors open and slide ......I got 2 cobra kits , so 1 will be spare , also just discovered a 1/35 Academy UH-1C "heavy hog" in my stash .. after that no more left to do .... I believe trumpeter make a 1/32 Chinook , so maybe at a later date i may purchase one , but at heart i am a WW11 plane buff ....at the moment i am running out of room so may have to sell off a few built kits to make room for new builds ...

The cobra is looking good at moment , just decals little touch-up and weathering/sealing to do .... I will include pilot and gunner in this build as the cockpit is too open not to include the figures .. will try to take pics with figs and without .. ( i wont glue glass in )

Re: Huey UH-1D

Chris, are there any 1/72 scale AH-1G kits out there? That is my current holy grail of models.

Re: Huey UH-1D

CavTanker .. there is one on e-bay .. 140171285023.. amt kit ..

I just searched bay .. 1 72 ,toys/hobbies... model kits.. then typed in 1 72 helicopters .. returned 2 pages and only 1 i saw was that item .. I have no idea of any manufacturers of helos.. apart from revell, airfix, italeri and academy .. as not that "genned" up on helos .. i am sure there may be die-cast helos out there but not sure about quality

Re: Huey UH-1D

I don't believe there are any diecast 1/72 Cobras or Hueys. Those aircraft are all in 1/48 or larger scale.
