F-18D Agressor (Academey 1/32)

These were taken under studio conditions by a modeller I hired to assemble this Academy 1/32 F-18D. I didn't want it to be in the usual F-18 ghost grey scheme and wanted something different.

There are several Agressor schemes to choose from ranging from F-18, F-5, F-14 or F-16...after lengthy review and discussion with the modeller, I chose an F-5 Aggressor scheme because of the color combination and wing's shape.

Given that Academy's Viking decal looks really good, I used it instead of the actual F-18 Agressors decal such as Fighting Omars, etc.

The modeller has so many projects in his hand that there is a 8-month waiting list to get this model finally started. From assembly to painting, it took 3 months. In all, it took 11months before I get to see the end product.

Oh.....She is sooo sweet looking.
That is one of the best looking F-18 plastic models i have seen in a while.
That must of cost a little too...For being a 1:32.
Very nice and it was worth the wait for that baby too.

Welcome to the forum, dg0816. That's an impressive "killer-looks" model of the F-18D. Thanks for
sharing the photos. That model must be the main 'highlight' of your collection(s) as it should be. Very
very nice!!!

Re: F-18D Agressor (Academey 1/32)

Thank you all for the positive remarks and welcome messages.

I'm glad everyone like the model. F-18D is now the pride of my modern fighter collection, but it may soon be replaced with other 1/32 and 1/48 in the near future...several projects are in the pipeline now.

I'll certainly post pics of other models in my collection. As usual, all were built by "contract modellers" because I have neither the patience nor skills to build them.

Hello dg0816!

I recognize you and your wonderful models from your posts on the Buzz! Didn't you at one time post pictures of a custom F-105 you had done?
