Re: New Ara1 additions

True Details puts out some nice resin after market products. Should go along way in sprucing up your Hellcat project.

I hope so. Resin always looks better painted, right now they look flat and crude. Anything's better than FM stock, so the parts should work out well. That seat and instrument panel are key parts.

Re: New Ara1 additions

Super! so there's no "P"-- is it captioned as an F6F-5, or F6F-5P? I really appreciate this OC!

Caption reads:

"USS Bunker Hill CV-17
VF-84 (CVG-84), Mar - Jun 45; F6F-5Ns and F6F-5Ps were used together with Corsairs;
markings on starboard wing upper and port wing lower surfaces"

Re: New Ara1 additions

Franklin Mint's excellent P-47 "No Guts, No Glory" came in today, I love it!

Here's a rough, quick pic, I'll post a nice at work pic in a few days.

Can't wait to get this into the classic Stars-n-Bars lineup of P-38, P-51C, and F6F.

Long missing from my collection, I am thankful to have this model now.

Re: New Ara1 additions

Thanks Cruves. This P-47 is nice, and thanks to the reviewers here at MH I knew about the flaws going into this purchase-- awkward tail fillet, exposed screws, and solid rocket pods are the stick out points. I don't care. I am not going to let life pass by waiting for another manufacturer to come to the plate. It ain't happening, not in 1/48.

This genuine, 100% guts WWII warplane is beautiful and is finished very nicely. The planform, especially with invasion stripes, is very reminiscent of the Hawker Typhoon--another star we'll never see in 1/48. Hobby Master is more likely to produce a Flying Flea.

Hawker Typhoon in 1/48th scale would be a real gem (Decent size gem). I would want an early Mk IB with the car door style canopy for sure. Definitely a beefy fighter that needs to be done in 1/48th scale.

Do I detect a hint of bitterness???
