Best packaging design

I've decided that despite all the criticism I/we have had for the Pooch, Corgi still makes the best boxes for holding models in place and allowing them to be taken out and put back. The most recent inner plastic that holds our models does not even have the, IMO, terrible little nubs that must be depressed and often chip, scrape, or otherwise harm the plane. The top piece of plastic that fits snug against the plane is great on the new Corgi ones. Nothing goes flying off into the room like Dragon and Witty which often have pieces on the model get broken from the extraction or have bits in the box go airborn. Hobby Master's little nubs are the toughest and most hated by me. Gemini is probably in second place behind Corgi but still has nubs. Your thoughts on packaging?

Re: Best packaging design

I'm with you all the way on this issue. The less nubs, the better.

Re: Best packaging design

I agree with you Parsig, one gripe I do have with HM is trying to keep track of the parts after they have gone flying.

Re: Best packaging design

With all of the planes that I have, I'm no fan of the plastic nubs. I haven't lost any fiddly bits or scratched/damaged a plane yet, but it's only a matter of time.

Re: Best packaging design

I've never damaged a model getting it out of the nubs, but I prefer not having them. On the other hand, if it's cheaper................

Captain I have said it before and I will say it again, there must be some Yorkshire blood in your veins.

Its definitely no nubs for me, I hate the darn things, they can scrape matt paint off the wings so easy if you are not very careful.

Re: Best packaging design

I still say the way Corgi packages it's 1/32 scale planes and GMPs packaging are the way to go, styrofoam doesn't scratch models and is relatively safe. Didn't Gemini Aces package the captured P51 in styrofoam (haven't gotten that one yet)? How does that work out for the smaller 1/72 scale?

Those nubs are just like a wife....always getting in the way of the fun things.
