My collection

Ok so this is not really all of my collection, my display is still being modified and is not ready for pictures yet. BUT since we all love pictures, here are some pics of my latest arrivals (which seem to be the latest arrivals of nearly everyone on this site). Enjoy!

A pair of Aces

The rookie meets THE LEGEND

Not the greatest pic but it has a vintage feel to it. Sort of like the flightline at NAS Oceana in the 70's

Look at Ol' Steve Ritchie in the background, chillin

Let us not forget who the reigning diecast champ is...

Re: My collection

Very nice, firefighterpilot1---boy, that's a mouthful. I'm still waiting for my HM F4---the three-tone camouflaged one---and it looks very good in your pictures. BTW, do you also collect WWII birds, including those from the Axis countries?

Re: My collection

Great pics, firefighterpilot1! Love 'dem Phantoms!

Mind if I ask? What camera did you use? What were your settings?

Re: My collection

Epapazian,

Many call me FFP1. I probably should have gone with something shorter, more catchy, but ah well. My collection is almost entirely modern jets, all American. American jets are my passion, foreign jets/ Warbirds just don't really interest me too much. Once I run out of American planes to buy, I may delve into the foreign aircraft category but really my focus is on building a collection of American air power at the moment. I do own a few Navy warbirds, and I do enjoy them so I may get more into American WWI and II birds in the near future.

Gort,

I used a Canon Powershot SD750. I don't think there's anything particularly special about the camera, at least when compared to any other basic point and shoot cameras. I normally use DSLR cameras, but I am in the process of raising funds for a new one so I am stuck with point and shoot at the moment. Lighting helps huge for taking pictures, and direct flash on point and shoots (and DSLR's) generally sucks big time so I try to use natural light if my only other option is direct flash. The light in my pictures comes from a nearby window and indirect sunlight. Some newer point and shoots let you adjust the ISO settings, I find this pretty helpful as sometimes you need to bump it up if you're shooting without flash. If your picture is blurry because of no flash, bump up the ISO and that will often solve it unless you are shooting in very dark conditions. (but you also have to be careful because the higher the ISO, the more grainy your picture will be so you have to find that sweet spot between highest ISO with best quality picture)

Sky, that's Capt.Steve Ritchie's F-4C MiG-killer mount...HM's first issue USAF Vietnam era Phantom. Btw, great photos of your collection, FFP1!

Re: My collection

Wonderful pics! Very neat collection. Thanks for posting! Unfortunately, the HM Phantoms have not hit the shores of Singapore yet. Gotto wait a little longer before I can get my hands on Showtime 100.
